great dive, great dive
partner, great day, great seas. Met Mark as my dive
buddy. His daughter was on this boatload of C-Card wannabes
for their checkout dive. Mark is an awesome dive buddy;
seams he used to be the sheriff's flotilla or something
like that and had experience leaking out all over.
Our
'planned' dive was to let the girls lead and just sorta
keep a watchful eye on the proceedings. Everything was
going just fine and dandy until I almost found an anchor.
Alison mentioned that if anybody found and anchor to
let her know... Well I found an piece of rope floating
up from the bottom rubble and I turned around for a
minute to check it out (didn't seam to have an anchor
attached) and by the time we turned back around the
ladies were gone in the 15' VIZ. I know Mark was disappointed
that we had 'lost' the girls. We looked around, but
only found them on the surface, many yards down current.
Did
see a nice juvenile blue angel (bright yellow) and the
EyeSea worked just wonderfully. Mark noticed that one
of the students dropped their weight belt at the surface
so I volunteered to go and get it. WOW... picking up
the extra weight really put my inflator hose to the
test! Unfortunately I guess since I have my Suunto in
P1 mode, it had me do ANOTHER 3 minute safety stop.
Oh well, who am I to argue? Better safe that sorry.
WHAT
WE LEARNED: Didn't catch me this time!!!! Alison
tried to get me on the 'out of air' scenario
and BANG! my primary was in front of her face in two
shakes of a donkey's tail!
