wooHoo...
gonna do some wreck diving. The afternoon boat is full
of a dive club from the Carolina's, can't remember North
or South, but they are quite a hoot! Governor's row
has a new wreck on it. I just think it's a bit looney
that they think we can do all 4 wrecks on 1 dive. Heck,
I could spend a whole dive on EACH.
Larry
had to unKit to get his NITROX reading on his $21 fill
and I think it might have razzed him a bit. We went
down and we promply got separated. Larry went down and
Gus headed for the wheel house and I spent the rest
of that wreck trying to find them! Everybody else had
left the wreck for the next one and I could easily keep
track of Gus's bubbles coming up from the wheel house
and we finally found Larry. The VIZ was down a bit,
not sure why, but you could barely see the next wreck
as we headed over.
Only
had a few minutes there before we were alone again so
we decided to head over to the third wreck to keep up
with the rest of the folks on the boat. I understood
that we were supposed to follow the anchor chain to
the anchor in the sand where you would be able to see
the anchor to the next wreck and go from there. Well
we're cruising along and Gus is blasting his SubDuck
to beat the band. I can't see him what with the VIZ
being down and such, but sure enough finally found him
and thank goodness; I think Gus has a magnet in his
head or something. He sure is good at navigation and
sure enough we were going off in the wrong direction
and he had his eyes on the next wreck!
As
soon as we got there Larry called the dive. Turns out
he was having a bad time with a headAche and wasn't
feeling to good. No Problem; that's what buddying means...
any diver can call any dive at any time for any reason.
It was especially OK, since the dive seemed so rush
in the first place.
WHAT
WE LEARNED: Not sure why, but my camera wouldn't
take a picture?! Had found a nice sptted moray on the
deck, but couldn't take a picture of it!
