rained on us, not a cloud in the sky! fiji is weeping us good-bye.' nuff said.
It's a night dive. It was awesome. Was pointing stuff out left & right for becky to shoot. I missed the big eel, but found a small eel. Julie did real good
till i couldn't find her at the end of the dive. We were in just 20' of water and she was right
above us.
Still had freakin' 860 psi out, could have stayed another 20 minutes, but we were last ones in, the
rest of the boat (from another group) were all sitting around on the boat. Hangin' in the water at night was
amazing. It was interesting to see the lights on Taveuni as well. The big island across from the resort has only 1 light and appears to be
some fancy schmancy resort. On Taveuni there are all kinds of light up and down the shore and up in the mountains.
On the way
out it was interesting to see it raining up in the mountains but clear over our heads. Maybe that's where our clear skies
rain came from; anyhoo, we were just bob-bobbing along the 3 of us and the other 9 were already on the boat 'cos they had
gone too deep and we had done a drift dives so were were expecting the boat to come get us. Nope; swim they
said. Well of course were were 'down current' so it wasn't a whole lotta fun, not far, just not fun. Julie
had to get the knack of keeping here fins under water and was getting a little 'deer eyed' on our progress. When we
got close enough for the tow line i had to literally put my fin in her face to get her to stop paddling!
No worries, 'sega ne lega' just grab the rope.
Even julie had to agree that the night dive was better
than a 'high tide' of kava. Cool white flowering anemone, no photo (YES! Becky got a pic of it..... gorgeous) |
