oh my,Oh my. what a day on the delightful green of the
Gulf of Mexico. Ride out was pretty good, but the swells were long on the chop. Went out with SKI for a glorious day
of diving. Ended up on the
Tug Orange.
VIZ was chit, but that's OK, we're
diving. Don was on the trip and we were the first
pair in the water. Lots of Goliaths
hanging around. one of the Goliaths gave me a nice
big bark... I guess I was getting 2 close for comfort.
not much else until we got near the stern.
I was filming away and through my little 2.5"
viewFinder I thought for sure it was shark in the
gloom,
scootering in and under the tug. I was torn
between trying to keep it in the frame and getting a
good look at it. Don was certain it was only a
cobia though and sure enough it was. very cool
though.
Found a little flounder out in the sand. he
did his best to hide, but..... found him anyway.
When we got back up to the rail level, there was a
cuda swimming straight for me. I wish I would have had
the composure to to track him properly
found this awesome jellyfish. I think it's a
Stinging Cauliflower, but I'm not sure. It had it's
own planishpere of critters hanging around.
very cool. It wasn't until I found another one on
the next dive that I realized how freakin' L O N G
the arms that lil' puppy were. OMG. 4'~6' at least
on a critter the size of a basketball.
Found a
funky little anemone right at the end of the dive. it
doesn't look like your standard anemone. It had
a real fat base and sharp points. On the way back
to the boat I was hanging on the line and there was a
small cuda just swooshing around underneath me.
well, you never know WHAT you'll see in the ocean;
well low and behold this lil' guy is fartin' up a storm
as if he'd been eatin' burritos all day. I almost spit my reg out of my mouth from laughing so
hard. What a hoot.
